Since 1977, the Wayside Chapel (below) and the surrounding grounds have offered a place of worship and quiet beauty to the members of St. Martin’s and the community. The Chapel grounds now serve as the home of the Garden of the Holy Cross-Riverway, an expansion of our existing Garden of the Holy Cross.

The Garden of the Holy Cross — Riverway contains 1,197 niches, one-half on the east side and one-half on the west side of the grounds, having a north-south orientation. The niches are accessed via a walkway of brick pavers between garden walls, enhanced by benches, trees, flowers and other landscaping. Each niche is capped with a block of solid granite from the quarry in Marble Falls, Texas. This is the same granite from which the Great Cross and the State Capitol Building in Austin are made. Applications to acquire niches in the Garden of the Holy Cross-Riverway are available in the Church office.

The packet contains pricing information and a site plan showing the location and the numbering system of the individual niches. Members owning niches in the existing columbarium will be given the opportunity to complete an application to relocate to the new columbarium by the payment of an additional fee.
